Practice Philosophy
My approach in my practice is to support you to map out your strengths and challenges, and to progressively enhance your sense of empowerment. I use evidence-informed interventions, in a caring and understanding manner. I will respect you unconditionally, and personalize interventions to meet your needs. I provide culturally sensitive and safe care.
My work is informed by 30 years of practice in the public and private sectors of health care, and I can support you to navigate our sometimes overwhelming medico-legal system.
I recognize and value all aspects of an individual's health and well-being: physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual.
I acknowledge the role of medications in facilitating treatment, but also realize that medications do not teach coping skills. As a result, I focus on supporting you to build skills that you can use every day.
I make referrals to other professionals as required.
