Practice Philosophy
Carl's approach in his practice is to support you to map out your strengths and challenges, and to progressively enhance your sense of empowerment. He uses evidence-informed interventions, in a caring and understanding manner. He will respect you unconditionally, and personalize interventions to meet your needs. He provides culturally sensitive care.
His work is informed by 18 years of practice in the public and private sectors of health care, and he can help you to navigate our sometimes overwhelming medico-legal system.
Carl recognizes and values all aspects of an individual's health and well-being: physical, emotional, mental, social, and spiritual.
He acknowledges the role of medications in facilitating treatment, but also realizes that medications do not teach coping skills. As a result, he focuses on supporting you to build skills that you can use every day.
Carl makes referrals to other professionals as required.
